How many whiskies should a tasting have?

How much whisky do I need to buy?
Far less than you would think. At a 20 ml tasting dram, one 700 ml bottle pours 35 drams — so a single bottle of each whisky covers groups of up to 35 people.
Can we taste blind?
Yes, and we would encourage it. Names, distilleries and prices stay hidden until every score is in, then the reveal ranks the room's actual favourites — which is not always the bottle with the best label.
